The Team:

Meet the skilled teachers and passionate leaders dedicated to empowering students and transforming learning at Kinyeti Academy.

Our Management

Lorem Aminathia

  • A native of South Sudan, Paul Lorem Aminathia lost both parents to civil wars of the 1990s. Self-educated in Kakuma Refugee Camp in Northern Kenya from age five to 14, he later received scholarships to Alliance High School in Kenya and the African Leadership Academy in South Africa, and did a post-graduate year at Hotchkiss School in the United States.

A further scholarship allowed him to attend Yale University: he graduated with a B.A. in Economics in 2015, and for the next two years worked at Equity Bank and Econet Media Limited in Kenya.

Lorem continued his studies through the Schwarzman Scholars program at Tsinghua University in China, graduating with an M.A. in Global Affairs in 2018.

He returned to South Sudan in 2019 to work with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and worked as a project manager at a South Sudanese parastatal in 2020 to extend cellular services into rural areas.

While he has long dreamed of transforming education in South Sudan, Lorem was finally able to begin full-time work as CEO of Kinyeti Academy in June 2022

Gloria Loki

  • Gloria Loki comes from a long line of teachers and remembers teaching her siblings and other neighborhood children at a young age.

After graduating with a degree in Applied Biology and Biotechnology from Midlands State University in 2019, she secured a position with the National Communications Authority, which operates under South Sudan's Ministry of Telecommunication. Through that work, she met Lorem, and since 2022, she has taught science and literacy at Kinyeti Academy.

Now Kinyeti's lead teacher and Chief Academic Officer, she is passionate about building students' leadership skills as well as their academic abilities.
